In 2009, during a period of self-reflection, I found myself back in my home village, Mohad Kareli, in Madhya Pradesh. While reconnecting with my roots, I had the opportunity to visit a newly built nursery, which was equipped with everything needed to nurture a variety of plants. This nursery stands as a testament to the development that has taken place in the village. With government support and community efforts, the nursery boasts a wide range of plants, including a beautiful collection of roses, making it a prime example of rural progress.
The time I spent there was both educational and fulfilling. From picking fresh guavas straight from the trees to learning about the different plant varieties and their cultivation methods, the experience was a delightful immersion in nature. Inside the nursery’s domes, I saw how various fruits and flowers were nurtured to thrive in a controlled environment, providing a deeper understanding of agricultural practices. The variety of roses, fruits, and other plants showcased the dedication of the village to maintain its green heritage.
This small yet memorable trip, made even more special by riding on my Bajaj Avenger with my cousin, Piyush (Monu), by my side, was a beautiful bonding experience. The brotherhood we shared while exploring the nursery and absorbing the village’s progress left a lasting impression. It was a journey of rediscovery, not just of the village’s development, but also of the strong familial ties that grow with time.
