The year 2010 was one of the most profound years of my life, filled with boundless enthusiasm and new beginnings. I had just returned from a self-exploration journey, refreshed and ready to start a new chapter. After a series of interviews, I was selected for Pine Labs and Nagarro, eventually choosing to join Nagarro. Settling into Gurgaon, Our NITR adda is House No. 1435 in Sector 15 sharing with my college senior, where our shared excitement for exploring life’s adventures brought vibrant energy to our days. Around this time, the NIT Rourkela Delhi Chapter gatherings had become a much-anticipated tradition, reuniting alumni every 2-3 years to celebrate togetherness and camaraderie.

In 28 August 2010, one such reunion brought us to the Air Force Center in Delhi. This NIT Rourkela meet was a memorable experience, especially with seniors like Suneel Jadon, Ganesh Bhondekar, Bhaskar, and Abhishek Sinha from the 2005 batch we travel to Delhi from gurgaon. It was an honor to meet prominent alumni such as CP Gurnani, a market leader from the 1981 batch, celebrated for leading the Tech Mahindra-Satyam merger, and Wing Commander Trehan from the 1987 batch. Reconnecting with friends from my own batch of 2006, including Padmaja Giri and Somnath Manna, added a personal touch to the event. The warmth of these reunions extended to the organizing committee members like Deepa Kapil (1987), C Gupta (1988), B. Sudan, and Brij Bhardwaj (1982), whose dedication to fostering alumni connections was inspiring.
Inspired by the sense of unity and shared purpose at these events, I decided to contribute more actively. After a few more local gatherings and discussions with the organizing team, I officially became a member of the NIT Rourkela Delhi Chapter’s organizing committee. It was a fulfilling experience to help plan future reunions and create opportunities to meet and learn from great alumni across industries and generations. Looking back, 2010 wasn’t just a year of professional milestones but also a time of rekindling old friendships, making new connections, and embracing a spirit of collaboration that continues to shape my journey.
