Growing up, we heard countless stories about the notorious Chambal dacoits in the ravines, tales filled with both admiration and fear, reflecting the social divide of India in the 70s and 80s. During my six-month self-exploratory bike journey, where I visited numerous places, my first encounter with Chambal & Behad didn’t disappoint me.
Riding my Bajaj Avenger across the old Chambal River (Hindi-चम्बल) Bridge was a journey into the heart of scenic bead beauty. The rhythmic hum of my motorcycle resonated against the vast expanse of the river as I cruised over the bridge with the wind in my hair. The panoramic view of the river, bordered by lush greenery and rugged landscapes, unfolded like a canvas painted with nature’s finest hues. Each twist and turn of the road revealed something new, from quaint villages to the gentle rustle of the river’s currents.
