In 2009, during a period of soul-searching, I returned to his ancestral village, Mohad Kareli in Madhya Pradesh, to reconnect with the simplicity of rural life. I spent cherished moments on his grandfather’s farm, engaging in activities like splashing in borewell water, tasting fresh sugarcane, and holding lambs, which provided a refreshing escape from the fast-paced city life. These experiences, coupled with his grandfather’s wisdom, offered profound life lessons on hard work and patience, reinforcing the importance of staying connected to one’s roots.
The following collection of photos captures the essence of my soul-searching journey in Mohad, going beyond mere memories to embody the lessons and emotions that shaped my perspective on life. Each image reflects the simplicity, warmth, and invaluable wisdom that I hold close to my heart from those cherished days on my grandfather’s farm.
