Mahakumbh 2025: A Soul-Stirring Pilgrimage with My Parents, Captured in Timeless Photographs

Mahakumbh 2025 was more than just a pilgrimage; it was a journey of faith, devotion, and reconnecting with my roots. Twelve years after my first soul-searching experience at Mahakumbh 2013, I embarked on another sacred adventure—this time with my senior citizen parents, ensuring they could witness this divine gathering while still physically able. From my village, Mohad (Kareli) in Madhya Pradesh, we undertook a challenging yet exhilarating 550+ km road trip to Prayagraj in my Mahindra Thar, meeting countless devotees along the way. The journey was filled with spiritual stops, unexpected challenges like cash-only payments and traffic bottlenecks, and heartwarming gestures of hospitality from strangers. Staying at my dear friend Alok Gautam’s home, Taking holy snan (bath) at Triveni Sangam, where the sheer magnitude of faith and devotion was overwhelming. Taking a holy dip at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati washed away all fatigue, filling us with divine energy.

Capturing these once-in-a-lifetime moments through photographs, I preserved the essence of our journey—crowded ghats, boats navigating the holy waters, evening aartis, and the boundless devotion of millions. Returning home after 48 hours of non-stop adventure, I felt an immense sense of fulfillment, knowing I had given my parents the experience of a lifetime at the world’s largest spiritual gathering.
