Revitalizing Break from Coding: Table Tennis at PeopleStrong Year 2013

At PeopleStrong in 2013, after spending long hours immersed in coding, we found source of relaxation and inspiration—playing table tennis. The fast-paced nature of the game offered the perfect contrast to the deep focus required for writing optimized algorithms for our enterprise application. Taking a break to engage in a quick match not only allowed us to stretch and unwind, but it also retrained our minds to approach coding problems with fresh eyes. The simple act of rallying back and forth across the table became a crucial part of our routine, helping us recharge both physically and mentally.

Table tennis wasn’t just a game for us—it became an essential tool for boosting productivity. As we battled it out on the table, the stress of coding deadlines and technical challenges seemed to melt away. Each match was a mix of light-hearted fun and competitive spirit, where colleagues like Ashok Kumar, Bhusan Ji, Abhishek, and I bonded over quick rallies and shared laughter. These moments of friendly competition also fostered stronger teamwork, enhancing collaboration when we returned to the workspace. It was incredible how such a simple activity could transform our energy levels and sharpen our focus for the tasks ahead.

One of the most memorable experiences was when I captured a table tennis match with my camera glasses, preserving those fun-filled moments with Ashok Kumar, Bhusan Ji, and Abhishek. These snapshots of camaraderie served as a reminder of the balance we struck between hard work and well-earned play. Table tennis at PeopleStrong wasn’t just about improving our skills with a paddle—it was about finding harmony in our work environment, strengthening team bonds, and recharging ourselves to continue pushing the boundaries of technology.
