Riding Back from Nepal: A Biker’s Tale of Adventure and Friendship Year 2011

In 2011, my solo bike journey on my trusted Bajaj Avenger to Nepal during my Nainital ride remains one of my most cherished memories. Crossing the border into Nepal was a personal milestone, filling me with an indescribable sense of accomplishment. As I documented my final moments in Nepal, taking in the last frames of its serene landscapes, I looked forward to my next destination—Rudrapur. This vibrant city held another exciting chapter, where I planned to reunite with Ganesh Bhondekar, a senior from NIT Rourkela college who had recently relocated there from Gurgaon (NIT Rourkela, Adda 1435 – Sector 15). The ride back to India was breathtaking, with lush green fields and the awe-inspiring Baigul Dam reservoir creating vivid memories.

In Rudrapur, Ganesh sir welcomed me warmly, and I took the opportunity to express gratitude for my successful journey by visiting a nearby temple. While offering prayer and thanking God, simplicity of rudrapur surroundings added spiritual depth to my adventure. Exploring Rudrapur with Ganesh sir and his office colleagues was equally enriching, as we shared stories, enjoyed local delicacies, and strolled through bustling markets. These moments of camaraderie reminded me of the strong bonds formed during college and gurgaon days, followed by the warmth of reconnecting with familiar faces in new places.

The next day, I set out for Gurgaon to join back my office Peoplestrong HR Tech, with a brief yet delightful stopover in Moradabad to catch up with my NIT Rourkela college friend Alok Gautam over high tea. The ride back was filled with reflections on my journey—crossing borders, experiencing diverse cultures, and fulfilling dreams that once seemed distant. The sense of accomplishment, both as a biker and as an individual, was profound. This trip was not just a journey across regions but a milestone that redefined my perspective on life, adventure, and the limitless possibilities that await on the open road.
