Road to Gwalior: My Journey into Solo Biking Year 2009

My biking journey took flight in 2009 when I bought my Bajaj Avenger, and my first solo ride was nothing short of an adventure. On September 2nd, I embarked on a ride to visit a friend in Gwalior, cruising through some of the most stunning areas. The route took me from Palwal to Agra, along the old NH-2, as the Yamuna Expressway was still under construction. As I entered northern Madhya Pradesh, the landscape transformed before my eyes, with the natural beauty of the countryside stretching endlessly. The air seemed to carry whispers of legendary outlaws, especially in areas like Dholpur, where stories of the past lingered.

For the first time, I crossed the world-famous Chambal River, passing through the Beehad of Chambal—an area that has fascinated me with its rugged beauty and historical significance. The journey was more than just about reaching Gwalior; it was about immersing myself in the rich culture, history, and landscape of the region. Each turn brought with it new sights and experiences that would remain etched in my memory. The ride felt like an initiation into the world of solo biking, where I could feel the freedom of the open road and the thrill of exploring unknown paths.

That ride, from Palwal to Gwalior, marked the beginning of many more solo bike adventures on my trusty Bajaj Avenger. It became a stepping stone in my quest for adventure, the first of many journeys that would take me to new places, new horizons, and a deeper connection with myself and the road. It wasn’t just about reaching a destination; it was about embracing the journey and the experiences it brought with it.
