Swach Bharat Abhiyan: My Reason to support Modi’s BJP

In the grand tapestry of India’s political landscape, few initiatives have resonated as deeply with the masses as the Swach Bharat Abhiyan under the stewardship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In 2nd Part of my blog series My Reason to support Modi’s BJP, we delves into why voting for PM Modi’s BJP in the upcoming 2024 elections is not just a choice for continuity but a commitment to furthering the transformative journey of Swach Bharat Abhiyan like many more initiative.

The Dawn of a Hygienic Revolution

The genesis of the Swach Bharat Abhiyan lies not just in policy documents but in a profound understanding of the common man’s aspirations for cleanliness. While the concept of cleanliness wasn’t new, its elevation to a national movement marked a paradigm shift in governance. Previous administrations might have overlooked the simple hygiene perspective, but PM Modi’s government seized the moment to redefine India’s approach to cleanliness.

One iconic moment stands out – when Prime Minister Modi himself stepped out of his office to clean roadside garbage with a broom. What opposition saw as a photo opportunity, The Idea resonated deeply with the common Indian. It sent a powerful message: if the Prime Minister could take such an initiative, why shouldn’t every citizen? This act inspired countless individuals, including young professionals like myself, to take ownership of our surroundings.

A Cultural Shift Towards Cleanliness

The Swach Bharat Abhiyan wasn’t just about government policies; it catalyzed a cultural shift. From urban metros to remote villages, the movement sparked a newfound consciousness about cleanliness. Even with dedicated maids for daily cleaning, many, like myself, made it a habit not to litter at home and to actively participate in cleaning drives.

The impact extended beyond routine cleanliness. During festive occasions such as Diwali, where firecrackers frequently result in littering, I ensure that all the garbage is cleaned both inside and outside the house, including on the road. Separating garbage into wet and dry bins became a norm, with the green and blue bins symbolising this commitment. This grassroots participation underscored a crucial truth: while governments can formulate policies and allocate resources, true change comes from the collective actions of citizens.

As old India strides towards a new era of development and progress, it needs leadership that not only understands the ground realities but also catalyzes transformative change. Prime Minister Modi’s unwavering commitment to small initiative like Swach Bharat Abhiyan exemplifies such leadership. By voting for PM Modi’s BJP in the upcoming 2024 elections, me and like minded aspiring citizen, signal our support for a vision that transcends political divides and envisions a cleaner, more prosperous New Bharat.
