Your first job is always a milestone that stays close to your heart. I got mine through NIT Rourkela campus placement at ‘Erevmax Technology’ in Kolkata, where I gathered some unforgettable memories in the office, along with a tough experience at my rented place. That one month in Kolkata, fresh out of college and after spending two months at Sarni, was a whirlwind of learning. We were trained not only in tech applications but also in the ins and outs of corporate life and office ethics. I still remember taking the train alone to Kolkata—my father wanted to accompany me, but I insisted on going solo. The city was unknown to me, but I found comfort in knowing that some college friends, already placed in different companies, were there too.

After training, I was given a choice: stay in Kolkata or move to New Delhi for a new project in the travel domain ‘Desiya‘. I embraced the challenge and chose Delhi, which was still 900 km away from my hometown but closer than Kolkata. It was also my first time flying! I even asked the HR if I needed a passport, which got a smile and the reply, “No, you’re still in India.” That was my first taste of working in a tech startup too—an exciting chapter that began in August 2006. The profound memories of that time still linger, shaping the foundation of my career.
