Mohad, a small village near Kareli in the Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh, holds a special place in my heart. It’s where I was born and spent countless summer vacations with my Nana and Nani, creating cherished childhood memories. In 2009, I revisited this serene village during one of my nomadic journeys on my Bajaj Avenger. Equipped with a camera, I captured the beauty of its lush green landscapes, which brought me closer to nature and evoked a deep sense of nostalgia. Every photo and video I took is a testament to the timeless charm of this peaceful place.
Vivid memories came flooding back, as I recalled the grand Banyan tree under which we spent our childhood playing marbles, and Mata ka Mandir, the temple that served as a sacred place of worship for the community. The school and playground were the heart of our evenings, where we played cricket and traditional village games like Charaa and Kabaddi. It was a simple life, but those moments shaped my love for exploration and connection with the land.
One of the most cherished experiences was riding the bullock cart, our free ride for short distances. The slow, rhythmic journey felt like an adventure, even though it was a common mode of transport back then. These moments, whether playing in the fields or worshipping at the temple, have become some of my fondest memories, and no matter how far life takes me, the essence of Mohad will always remain a part of me.
